Turtle mini

Did you know that every female turtle born on Tybee, comes back to the Island to lay her eggs and pass on the heritage of our little salt island to her offspring.  The nest will have as many as 100 eggs.  The Marine Science Center has events focused on the community coming out to witness the birth of new babies emerging from the sand and making the trek to the sea with their siblings.  Truly this experience is life changing for everyone who witnesses these cute little turtles heading down the beach to the water to start their life at sea.
